At Heart in Mind, we strive to recognize the abilities of every individual, and we work to support them in their efforts.
We help our clients identify their strengths, challenges, and goals, and offer a safe space to explore them.
Dr. Michèle Mantha, C. Psych.
Clinical & School Psychologist
Dr. Michèle is a bilingual clinical and school psychologist, who works with children, adolescents, as well as adults who are young at heart.
She offers individual therapy services for a variety of mental health challenges including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Suicidal Ideation
- Adjustment Difficulties
- Emotional Regulation
- Behavioural Challenges
- Self-Esteem
- Social Skills
Her interventions are both evidenced-based and creative to meet the individual needs of each of her clients. A mother of two school-aged boys herself, Dr. Michèle is familiar with the everyday challenges of childhood as well as parenting. She combines her personal experiences with professional knowledge to find unique solutions to support her clients. Sessions are both strategy rich and fun!
Dr. Michèle’s clinical practice is enriched with over 15 years of experience working in numerous school, community, and health-related settings including the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, the Clarence-Rockland Family Health Team, the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, the Western Québec School Board, the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, and the Plantagenet Family Health Team. These settings have also provided her with extensive experience in conducting psychological assessments for learning disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), giftedness, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Dr. Michèle received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ottawa, and she is registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
When not in session with clients, or writing psychological assessment reports, Dr. Michèle enjoys spending time with her family, especially at the cottage. Her favourite activities include going on nature walks, stand-up paddle-boarding, skiing, completing variety puzzles, solving escape rooms, and watching Disney movies (especially Inside Out).
Élizabeth Francoeur, C. Psych. Associate
Psychological Associate - School and Clinical Psychology
Elizabeth Francoeur, is a bilingual Psychology Associate who works with children.
She offers individual therapy services for a variety of mental health challenges including:

Anxiety and mood related issues associated with disordered eating
Elizabeth has diverse work experience in Canada and the United States: inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, long-term care settings and school psychology.
She provides comprehensive psychological assessments and treatments for children. She integrates evidence-based interventions and designs treatment plans based on the client’s unique needs and strengths, drawing upon her training and experience in diverse therapeutic approaches, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavior Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Music Therapy.
Elizabeth received both a Master’s degree in Clinical Behavioral Psychology (M.Sc.) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Music Therapist Accredited (MTA). She is a member of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
In her time outside the clinic, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in varied activities, such as playing clarinet in different music ensembles, being outdoors hiking, canoeing, running or gardening, walking with her pup, cooking, camping, doing yoga and listening to music.
Christiane Rouhana, M.Ps., C.Psych.
School Psychology
Mrs. Rouhana is a school psychologist who works with francophone children and adolescents.
She provides assessment services to identify or confirm various disorders, including:
- Intellectual Disability
- Learning Disabilities
- Neurodevelopmental Disorders, especially with regard to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In recent years, she has developed expertise in assessing various disorders such as intellectual disability, learning disabilities and other neurodevelopmental disorders, especially with regard to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Christiane has Canadian experience in psychoeducational assessment, as well as experience in other contexts, including art therapy for war-traumatized children, counseling, in school and community settings outside of Canada.
She holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Psychology of Education and Training from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, and completed her degree equivalency studies at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She is currently a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, a member of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario and the Canadian Psychological Association.
Christiane wants above all to team up with the parents and various stakeholders to effectively respond to her client’s needs and make personalized recommendations to facilitate her client’s journey to reveal their true potential!

Johanne Chartrand
Psychometrist
Johanne has a Degree in Nursing from Ottawa University. She has worked in various settings throughout her career over the past 19 years. She has enjoyed working at the bedside at Montfort Hospital, in the community as a Nursing Supervisor for Paramed Home Health and has also coordinated programs and services for a local pediatric clinic in Orleans.
At Heart in Mind, Johanne works as a psychometrist under the supervision of Dr. Michèle Mantha. As a psychometrist, she administers various tests and games with clients who undergo a psycho-educational assessment. She’ll ensure that clients are comfortable in the assessment environment by adding her personal touch to making it a unique, positive and fun experience.
In her spare time, this mom of 2 spends as much time as she can outdoors with her dog exploring the area one trail at a time. Actively involved with child related organizations such as scouts and volunteering at her local elementary school, Johanne has always placed great importance on giving the children of her community the opportunity to share in new experiences in a supportive and nurturing environment. She also enjoys various crafts, which you may see around our office space. She enjoys learning about her client’s interests and hobbies and looks forward to sharing this experience with them.
